I'm working on what I like to call the Wireless Assault Kit
It's a suitcase, inside has all the tools (and then some) for a wireless assault. ( not actually intended to assault/harm anything)
Before I get into what it'll do and how it'll work I'd like to ask a question for saftey reasons.
It'll have in parallel a laptop, xbox lcd, power inverter, 2.4ghz 1 watt amp, and a video scanner.... All components run off of 12VDC except the laptop that'll use the inverter. I'm concerned about the current this thing will pull, even more so though the wiring in the car's accessory socket... I do NOT want to wire directly to the battery as it'd nolonger be portable.
Anyway so here's the deal..
There is a suit case with a laptop in it, the screen is placed in the top with some amp'd up speakers and it'll run inssider, it'll also have a pda's lcd below that, that'll show system resources.
That's the top for the most part.. the bottom is where the good stuff is..
In the bottom will be an lcd screen from a portable xbox monitor, that'll be connected to a 2.4GHz video scanner for WarViewing on the go (maybe with recording capabilities) below that will be a usb hub, the hub will be for connecting thins like the gps which I don't want to internalize as it'll be placed on the hood of the car while driving.
Below that is a full size keyboard

wired into the laptop, I won't be installing a mouse, There will be a scsi (yes scsi) cd rom drive mounted in an upright position that'll allow me to load my custom linux distro or backtrack, the hard drive is so small i'd rather not bother with trying too dual boot such a small drive anyway.
Connected to the laptop and stored in the bottom will be a .5 Watt wifi adapter with packet injection capabilities (two)and attached too one of them will be a 1 Watt 2.4GHz amp.. out on the dash will also be two containers to hold power cables and the gps while in "suitcase mode" there will be 4-5 rp-sma connections on the dash (labeled of course)
Wifi0 (generic .5 watt w/ packet inject)
Wifi1 (alfa one 1watt)
Hci0 (bluetooth)
hci1 (bt sniffer/csr)
Video Scanner (4 channel standard)
For security (and fun) I'll use a finger print scanner and web cam to check credentials.
For the security/power of the video scanner I'll take the power lines (where the switch would be) and put in a usb port.
I'll get a crappy usb dongle and bridge the middle two wires, converting the drive into a key/switch. so it needs to be plugged in to power it on.
The system will also have an individual switch for each device and a main power switch with safety cover.
I've began putting it together but fucked up the lcd on the laptop, waiting for new power board... worst case scenario vga still works..
Below are some drawings and 3d models I've worked on (they suck lol)
